"Burning: A Wish"
Napalm Records

Oliver Schmid founded Lacrimas Profundere in 1993. At that time they were one of the few groups which combined doom metal with gothic elements. They released one demo before recording their debut album,"...And The Wings Embraced Us." in 1995. In 1996, Lacrimas Profundere signed to Witchunt Records and released their second album, "La Naissance D'un Reve." This release catapulted Lacrimas Profundere to the forefront of the then emerging German gothic scene and landed them highly successful European tours with Darkseed, Haggard and Soulsearch. The band signed to Napalm Records and in April 1999, they entered Lugfull Studio to record their third album, "Memorandum." With this release, Lacrimas Profundere emerged as the leading Germann gothic metal band throughout Europe and secured a strong following stateside as well. With their essential fourth album, the German sextet sheds their extreme metal skin, opting for a refined rock sound fusing melancholy with hope. "Burning: A Wish" expertly displays their penchant for producing exquisite and passionate melodies entwined within an emotion-laden tapestry of darkened gothic tinged rock. Lacrimas Profundere have produced a masterpiece reminiscent of Anathema, Katatonia and My Dying Bride. E-mail: promo@napalmusa.com |
