Ashes To Ashes
"Cardinal VII"
DVS Records
|
Ashes To
Ashes was formed in 1992 and after a few demos the band has self released
their debut album, "Shapes Of Spirits" in 1998. The reactions were great,
the band had to press new CD's and so far, they sold around 2,000 copies
of this album on their own. From several offers the band got from record
labels around the world, Ashes To Ashes finally signed a two album deal
with DVS Records in 2001. The first result is "Cardinal VII." "Cardinal
VII" offers you a mix of gothic, progressive and heavy metal, the band
gives a good description to this mix and they call their music GREGORIAN
METAL. The album is much more diverse compared to their first album,
especially the vocals of Kenneth Brastad. Some people who reviewed the
debut thought Kenneth's voice was too monotonus, but, on the new album,
you will hear that the band has taken this comment very serious, the
lead vocals are very diverse this time. Musically, "Cardinal VII" is
in the same direction as "Shapes Of Spirit" but the music has taken
a more in your face approach and direction. If you have heard the debut
album you will agree to this and if you do not know the debut album
then let us suprise you with this 6th release on DVS Records.
