By Paul Autry If there's one thing that I like to see, it's a woman with a guitar. What makes that image all the more better is if that woman can actually play the guitar (and play it well). Jaye Foucher can play, that's for sure. I'm openly not a fan of instrumental music and everytime I have to review an instrumental CD, I make it a point to mention that. So, how do I decide if something gets a good or bad review? Well, I like to have music playing during the time I spend surfing the web. I'll put a disc on and, if I can make it all the way through without having to switch to another disc, it's worthy of being added to my collection on a permanent basis. Jaye Foucher has managed to become one of the VERY SELECT FEW that I can honestly say I enjoyed. "Contagious Grooves" will remain in my collection and, while it won't be something I listen to constantly, it won't gather dust on my shelf either. If you're a fan of instrumental music, I would suggest adding this CD to your collection. It's one of the best albums (for this style of music) that I've heard and for me to be able to say that, well, that's a compliment in itself. |
