From the overdone vibrarto on Terror Rising & underdevelped melodies of Menace To Society, to the incrediby produced Visual Lies & brillianty arranged Master Of Disguise, I’ve had plenty of likes & dislikes in sixteen years. When I reviewed the greatest hits record for the Medford Mail Tribune in ‘94, I called Lizzy Borden ‘outrageous’. Recently, I had doubts since it’s been so long, but my opinion still stands. This CD is exactly what Lizzy said it was in our first interview; a cross between Visual Lies & Master Of Disguise with a little Love You To Pieces thrown in. The material sounds very traditional with a hint of modern era production here & there. The only songs I wasn’t thrilled about were “State Of Pain” & “Zanzibar”. The two cover songs on the album were not strong points either, but the rest makes up for it. Do yourselves a favor and grab this album as soon as possible. © 2000, BBHrdRpt
