I wanted to like this, even before Metal Maniacs gave it a glowing review, but I couldn't find the vibe of this CD. There are some brilliant passages, like in "Triple Six Suck Angels," but the overall feeling when I listen to this is . . . well, boredom. And metal releases don't bore me 99.9% of the time. I am tired of bands that play straight blast beats and couple that with simple, hummable, melodies and then claim they are death metal. No, this is not. Death metal is intelligently played instruments and unique ideas, not re-thrashing, previous releases.
