By Tate Bengtson Not being a huge fan of Queen, I had my doubts about this tribute, but there were a few tracks which I found pretty cool. Most notably, the rich vocal delivery by Avalanch on “Save Me,” the passionate symphonic power metal found on Aztec Jade’s cover of “The Show Must Go On” (which sounds a bit like modern Savatage), and the a cappella version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Maybebop. Not too crazy about the corndog funk of “Another One Bites The Dust” by Hotrod Otis, nor the pansy glam rock sounds of “One Vision” by Spread Mind. I appreciate the diversity, but an unfortunate side effect is that this album probably won’t hit a home run for anybody. Not too bad though. |
