I didn't expect this
type of band to end up on Spitfire after the rash
of other Florida bands and Puerto Rican bands jumping aboard MCA of
lately;
Puya and Nonpoint for example. The Groovenics from South Florida are
definately something different in listening terms of experimentation.
I'm going to agree with the Mr.Bungle/Deftones appeal to fans as they
hit some unchartered waters in their songwriting ideas of genre fusing
between punk, metal,hip-hop and electronica. 13 tracks with another
surprise at the end with their version of Def Leppard's "Pour Some
Sugar
On Me"!!! Something I never expected!
The band should do very well with the newer generation of
listeners of "nu-metal" and the more alternative listener; may
sound
stereotypical but I'm in my 30's and despite growing up to more simpler
bands like The Fixx and Re-Flex in the electronica age, I just don't get
into this on a personal level but do give the band a huge pat on the
back for doing something very original.
