Inside Five Minutes
"Stately Chaos Home"
Makoto Records

By Paul Autry

I'm not sure what the band had in mind when they recorded this release. But, I get the impression that they were going for a raw, live sort of vibe because, honestly, that's what it sounds like. The best way to explain this to you is this...imagine that you're in a club and there's a band playing that you know nothing about, you never heard their music before (live or recorded). The band hits the stage and starts to crank out their music and you're standing there, getting into the show, but, not completely because, since you know nothing about what you're hearing, you can only really get into the performance and the way the band will deliver each song. That's how I feel when I listen to this release. It's not bad...it's got some kick to it. But, I can't totally get into it. After repeated listens, once the songs start to stand out and I can identify each one, maybe. In other words, this is a release that has to grow on you. If you can't get into it after a few listens, you're not gonna get into it at all. I'm not slamming this one, but, I'm not suggesting you rush out and buy it right away either. Inside Five Minutes is a band that you'll have to use your own judgement with and the only way to do that is to at least give it a listen. http://www.insidefiveminutes.com
