By Paul Autry Moodroom is a female fronted band that adds a fresh sound to the alternative/modern/rock/pop/sassy/indie scene. Or so they say. After hearing their five song release, I'd tend to belive them. What I wouldn't agree with is the word alternative. I've seen a number of reviews where people have considered this band to be "alternative rock." While it's true, they do have elements of rock, they're the farthest thing from alternative, at least in my opinion. They're more like radio friendly pop rock...and they're pretty good at their chosen craft. The only real disappointment for me is the fact that there's only five songs on here. When I find a band I like, one with a good, catchy and melodic sound, it's usually bands like Moodroom and, I'm sorry, but, five songs just aren't enough. The disc is over at what seems like the height of enjoyment and I'm left with this craving for more. That's just the case here. This is an exceptional CD that I would suggest checking out. But, I'd still like to hear more. |
