| When
I got this CD, I went straight to the cover of the Prince song, "Purple
Rain" because, in my opinion, that was the only good album that Prince
has ever done and the title track happens to be a really cool song. So,
I wanted to hear what Neil Zaza did to it. While he managed to stay pretty
close to the original, I do feel that he added an extra level of depth
to this song. As for the rest of the album, well, not being one for instrumental
music, I guess I would have to say that this is an exceptionally good
album because I enjoyed it. The Egyptian album cover was pretty cool...actually,
the entire package was done rather well. The production was really good,
which is something I like to hear. I guess the reason why I got into this
release was the fact that most instrumental albums that I've heard all
tend to sound the same. But, from song to song, Neil Zaza has managed
to create different feelings. So, you're not listening to the same thing
over and over again. There's variety on here and that's important. For
the collector's out there...this album also features the rhythm section
of drummer Steve Smith and bassist Ross Valory, who some of you might
be familiar with if you're a fan of Journey. All in all, this is a good
record...I'd probably like it a lot more if this was a vocal album, but,
that's just me. I would still suggest checking it out if you're a fan
