One of NY's finest lives to fight yet again with "Round 6," another brutal bashing about the head and shoulders of their latest opponent. Delivering one solid record after another, they're either destined to be the most over-worked under appreciated band in existence or this never give up attitude really has gone to their heads! I saw them a year or two ago doing their "Act of God" tour and they were absolutely awesome! That was in fact their best album yet-what a masterpiece. Then again nothing they've done has lacked in anyone area-nor does this newest creation. Quite a bust in the chops at first listen actually, I never quite expected 'em to come out so quickly with their opening rant, "Fed Up," definitely one of their thrashier outings! "Desensitize" is another power-chord cruncher in the finest rabid tradition-down tuned and in yer face, ace! Propain's music is so simple and it's like I keep waiting for 'em to do something out of step just to be different-I mean, how long can they keep this up? Meskil's a two-fisted God behind the mic and after all these years still comes off as sounding like he'll never live another peaceful day until finally throwing that goddamned beast off his back! Gotta delve a bit into history for that one! As a band, Propain deliver the hardest Hard Core with the unholiest of hooks. that's definitely what sets them apart, they've got the heavy metal roots happening in a big way-kings of the shred these guys! "Substance" would be a good bet for single material with what could well be their most melodic stab-we're talking about sung chorus here. and they pull it off! Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but such subtle changes do not go unnoticed when you're dealing with the machine like precision of this band. Never for the weak, now or ever, Propain's "Round 6" is another crushing example of perseverance, pain and purity-once again answering the bell as the class of this dog eat dog profession!
