Jonathan Mariante Backdraft are a rock band from Sweden, and this is their first release. It's
a 3-song CD, and it's wicked indeed! These guys are a hard rocking band with
a sinister edge! Their singer Joppe sounds like Axl Rose singing in a lower
voice (like he does on "It's So Easy" or "Mr. Brownstone"), and the band
plays gritty, bluesy, hard rocking, fist-to-face rock and roll, which, as I
said, has a spooky tinge to it! Their music takes a lot of inspiration from
70's rock. The second song, in fact, "Mainman's Philosophy", is very Sabbath
influenced, and it also contains a burning guitar solo! The first song, the
title track, is a groovy, blues-inspired tune that packs a wallop! And the
third and last song is "Penetration 2000", a real scorchin' hard rocker! This
baby smokes! These guys can certainly rock, they have talent and balls,
and they're original, too. The world of rock could use more bands like
this! Let's hope for a full length release from Backdraft soon!
