Cyclefly returns with the follow up to their greatly acclaimed debut,
"Generation Sap." I haven't heard that album so I have nothing to
compare this release to. But, from what I've heard, "Crave" is a solid,
straight forward, heavy rock album that doesn't sound like anything
else
that's currently out there. They kind of remind me of New York's
Needulhed with less of the industrial elements. A good sound and a good
quality of different musical styles flow through this album to make it
a
well balanced release. Some of the more mellow stuff, such as "King For
A Day," kind of throws off the more upbeat numbers. But, some of the
songs are "middle of the road" rockers, so, in a way, they do blend
well
together. From a personal point of view, I'm more into the upbeat
stuff.
I feel that's where the band really lets loose. The mellow stuff, well,
it shows their diversity and, like I said, the end result is a well
balanced album that should make as much noise, if not more, as their
debut in the music scene. Keep an eye on this band...and keep an ear or
two tuned in to what their doing.
