Steve Marriott
"Live in Concert"
Trillion Pictures

Yes...this is what a DVD release should be all about. Let's see, first of all, this is a collector's edition in the "Legends Of Rock" series and, of course, Steve Marriott is certainly a legend...Small Faces, Humble Pie, need I say more. As the back of the package explains, this release captures Steve later in his career with Packet Of Three. The live footage was recorded at the Camden Palace Theatre in London back in 1985. The performance is, in a word, classic Steve Marriott. If you know the man, if you know his music, then you know what he can do and this performance certainly won't disappoint. While not really an artist that I ever got into, the way this release was put together was really impressive. On the DVD itself, there's a rare interview with Steve that's fun to watch and it seems like he was having fun doing it. His bio is on here as well as an animated menu. Like I always say, with what you can do with a DVD, it's always wise to give your buying public the most for their money and "Live In Concert" certainly does that. Once you're done watching the DVD, you can flip it over, put it in your stereo and listen to the nine songs on this release as well. That is a very cool way to do things...DVD on one side and a regular CD on the other. So, you get the best of both worlds all on one disc. Very cool, indeed. The people who decided to put this release together obviously have respect for what Steve Marriott gave to the music world and, if he was alive today, I'm sure he'd be happy with this product. Like I said, I can't honestly say that I'm into the music that Steve Marriott has created, but, I certainly enjoyed checking this release out. This is the proper way to salute one of the "legends of rock." Other companies who are planning on putting out some DVD's in the future...doesn't matter who the artist is...do it this way or you're gonna have some disappointed fans
