Dismember Six studio albums and sixteen years later, one of the early pioneers of death metal, Dismember jump on the band wagon of DVD releases. The two disk set is comprised of a live performance which is of the utmost in sound and visual quality. Very nicely done. It's almost a better picture than one could view with his own two eyes. Ah, the age of technology. The show itself was recorded in Stockholm in 2003 so none of the songs off 'Where Iron Crosses Grow' are featured. None the less, an incredible offering. Way too short for my taste, but not too long as if to bore you out of your recliner. Some of the songs are , 'Dismembered, Soon To Be Dead, Casket Garden, Of Fire, Bleed For Me, Skinfather, Misanthropic, I Saw Them Die, Skin Her Alive, In Death's Sleep and Hate Campain.' Well, actually, that's all of them. Dismember showcase the fact that they still remain one of the few, true and pure death metal acts of our time. On the second disk is a lengthy documentary, well more of an interview segment disk with Matti Karki, David Blomqvist and Fred Estby. All the interview portions are subtitled, so if you turn away for a moment, you lose out. Unless you speak their native tounge. Between questions are some very rare and raw amateur shot videos of some very early performances. The history and tales that are told within are very interesting. One of the better put together documentary, band disks. A must for all death metal heads. See a band, true to the cause that never even thought about giving in to any trends. DEATH METAL FOREVER!!! |
