Jimi Hendrix This documentary chronicles a theoretical story of what might have happened during the last twenty-four hours of a man that was perhaps the single most influential rock guitarist ever, Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix wowed crowds with his captivating, rule-breaking performances and this video makes for a captivating piece of entertainment as well. Many of the accusations which are raised by the show’s producers, however are based in opinion and hearsay, throughout the documentary, the creators raise very little hard evidence, aside from a FBI document that shows that Hendrix was under the scrutiny of that agency, as are most high profile celebrities, especially those who have a history of being engaged in drug use. The story aims to recreate the final moments of this guitar legend and offers up many facts and anecdotes in regard to Jimi’s career. There is a small amount of rare video footage that gives fans a glimpse into the life of Hendrix, as well as several testimonials from some of the rocker’s closest friends and associates. The theory that is laid out certainly provides an interesting take on the circumstances surrounding the guitarist’s death, but simply stops short of proving their case due to a lack of hard evidence or eyewitness testimony. Certainly, however the documentary raises many pertinent questions which beg answering. That said it is doubtful that any conspiracy themed outlay of the guitarist’s unfortunate death will ever be raised in a court of law, leaving fans and interested parties to simply speculate on the nature of this prominent figure’s death. All in all, however this video is quite entertaining and serves to offer a second opinion as to the circumstances surrounding the death of this rock legend that will never be forgotten. |
