Whitesnake Wow. What else can be said about this DVD? This is by far, one of the best live DVD's I've ever seen. Whitesnake proves themselves to be more than an 80's phenomenon in their live DVD, "In the Still of the Night." The line-up that appears on this performance is: Vocals: David Coverdale, Guitar: Doug Aldridge and Reb Beach, Keyboards: Timothy Drury, Bass: Marco Mendoza and Drums: Tommy Aldridge. So, just by knowing the line-up, you know that this has to be an amazing show, and it is. David Coverdale looks and sounds twenty years younger than he did in the late eighties. Reb Beach and Doug Aldridge do an amazing job complementing each other and trading off flawless solos. I even sat through the drum solo on the DVD. The DVD starts off with some vintage Whitesnake such as "Burn" and "Bad Boys" and by track three, the hits like, "Love ain't no Stranger" start to come in. The quality, both audio and visual are awesome and it's almost as good as being there. Although David Coverdale doesn't hit the high notes album perfectly, they are really close and you're sure not to be disappointed. There is also a CD included with the DVD, which is equally awesome. It's good to hear "Judgement Day" being played live and right on target. Seriously, this is a great investment. Hardcore Whitesnake fans will be thrilled with the great performance of one of the premier and most talented bands to come from the 80's era and fans who only know the hits, will become hardcore fans. |
